Hot Weather Tips

  • Never leave any pet in a vehicle, even with the windows cracked or rolled down

  • Make sure to bring all outdoor pets indoors during storms

  • Consider using a thundershirt, calming music, or turning up the volume of the TV to drown out summer storm noises. This can help reduce your pets anxiety

  • If traveling with your pet, consider the need for potty breaks and make sure all microchips and ID tags are up to date

  • Limit summertime exercise to cooler times of the day

Backyard Actitivites

  • Upgrade your fetch game, there are launchers that can be great for dogs who like to sprint. Or switch up the toy you are playing fetch with

  • DIY agility courses, these can be great for mental stimulation for your pup

  • Work with your pup on scent work by hiding treats or a high value item

  • Play Hide and Seek! This can be fun for both your and your pup, bring out your inner child!

  • Sprinklers or water fun is a great time to play as well as cool off in the summer heat
